| 2/15/04 | First national Internet-based meeting of the Women's Economic Development Alliance. | A key part of the process of building the National Women's Lobby is the creation of it's first committee --- the Women's Economic Development Alliance. This organization represents women's organizations and women business owners to political leaders and key influencers. At the end of the Virtual Town Hall process, this group will be responsible for advocating the proposals of the NWL to their local and national leaders. |
| 2/19 or 2/20 Closes 2/23/04 | Internet-based web conference of key national leaders | Final discussion and vote of leaders prior to public vote of the General Assembly. |
| 2/24/04 Closes 3/5/04 | Final version of proposal posted and promoted nationally for a vote of organization leaders (General Assembly) and the public. | Proposal items must receive a two-thirds majority to become part of the National Women's Lobby Bulletin. Participating national women's organizations are requested to prepare their brief statements for inclusion in the Bulletin. |
| 3/9/04 | Results of voting are announced in the first National Women's Lobby Bulletin. | National Women's Lobby Bulletin is presented to all state and federal legislators, and statewide and federal leaders as well as media releases, etc. Appointments are made to meet with key leaders during the upcoming "Access to Markets: Women in Procurement Week." Proclamations are sought and a push for a strong recognition and motivation to adopt NWL solutions. |
| 3/22 - 3/28 | Access to Markets: Women in Procurement Week | During this week, the new WEDA organizations will have meetings with their local and national leaders to present and advocate the positions established through this first Virtual Town Hall. WEDA will also seek story placement and access to corporate leaders. |
