USWCC National Programs

The U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce provides a broad array of national, local and virtual programs. These fall into four categories: Business Enterprise, Career, Leadership and Public Policy. Our programs are focused at achieving our mission to develop leaders, accelerate economic growth and provide a community voice for women.

Below is an overview of our national programs:

1. Breakthrough:  Business Growth Strategies
The USWCC business breakthrough programs aim to help women breakthrough the growth ceilings of their businesses. Of the 6.2 million women-owned businesses in the U.S. less than 1.6% have sales over $1 million or more. Another clear ceiling exists at the $5 million level.  Our breakthrough programs focus on the keys to business growth.

  • Breakthrough:  Business Growth Leaders
This cornerstone program of the USWCC is an intensive nine-month program limited to classes of 10 women or less who work together, with experts and with community influencers to create business growth.  Focus areas include product, market, strategy and positioning, influential connections, growth financing, systems, business decision making, growing staff and changing roles.
  • USWCC Expert Advice
Many growing companies find the need to reach out to expert consultants to assist with business decisions, structures, marketing, finance and more. Each year the USWCC selects a limited number of USWCC Expert Advice Consultants to provide quality council to our members at excellent rates.  All experts go through an extensive application and interview process, must publish their experience, provide written guarantees of their rates for our members, and guarantee to provide a free initial consultation/interview to our members.  Additionally, members rate our consultants confidentially so that we are able to keep the best consultants available for our members.
  • The Buyer's Connection:  Introductions to Buyers and Influencers
The USWCC establishes opportunities for our members to meet corporate and government buyers and key business influencers in member only settings regionally and nationally. These opportunities help you differentiate your business in the marketplace and allow you to meet the people you need to know to advance your business.
  • The Procurement Project: One Woman at a Time
Our work with business leaders tells us that many leaders are working hard to provide greater opportunities for women in public and private procurement markets. Even so, the percentage of success is very low.  We believe that by working in a very focused way with just a very few qualified women-owned businesses at a time, we can create a greater success.  That is what The Procurement Project is all about.  In each market we will work with a small number of qualified women-owned businesses who will receive the full efforts and influence of the USWCC to assist women crack into these lucrative markets.
  • Show Me the Money! Accessing Capital for Business Growth
One constant challenge to business growth is money – getting money, using money and understanding what options are available. The USWCC "Show Me the Money!" program works on three levels:  Expert Advice – we provide qualified experts through our USWCC Expert Advice program; Education and Connections – we provide thorough educational opportunities for women to understand financing options and we provide a team of experts who are ready to review your business plan and make recommendations and referrals; Accountability – we find and promote the institutions that are lending to women so you know who is supporting the women's marketplace.

2. Breakthrough:  Career Growth Opportunities

  • USWCC Career Opportunity Fairs
We reach out to the companies looking for leaders to help you make the important connections you need. USWCC Career Opportunity Fairs are focused at the companies that are making real strides in promoting women.
  • USWCC Annual Report: Career Opportunities and Trends for Women
This valuable report is essential for the growing career woman.  You will learn about career and industry trends, emerging careers, which firms are promoting women, and where to look for your next great career opportunity.
  • USWCC Career Focus
These programs focus on understanding and using influence, building networks, becoming a valuable leader, positioning for promotion and more.

3. USWCC Women's Community Alliance
The USWCC believes it is important to reach deep into our communities to bring together community leaders and enable communication, growth and goal setting.  In each of our communities, we build a USWCC Women's Community Alliance that works together to create broad reaching change and growth in our communities.

4. USWCC CEO Forum
It's lonely at the top…  A CEO faces daily challenges, many of them on her own. That's the driving force behind the US Women's Chamber of Commerce's creation of the USWCC CEO Forum.

The USWCC CEO Forum is designed to provide women CEOs, and women in positions with similar responsibilities, with education, feedback and support to enhance the success of their businesses. Forum groups are small, with a maximum of twelve members, from non-competing businesses. A seasoned CEO leads each group with experience in the public and private sectors.

USWCC CEO Forum discussions are confidential allowing for open feedback and discussion. The ongoing regularly scheduled monthly meetings build strong bonds among the members and provide for valuable advice from individuals who have gained a deep understanding of your business and operating environment. This environment of trust and support allows members to address the critical issues that will determine the success of your business.

5. Public Policy Summits
It is very important for women to stay informed of the real statistics and information about the status of women.  This data greatly affects our public policy needs. The USWCC will use summits, reports, and our Web Portal to keep women informed and to develop a strong public policy agenda. Member polls are used extensively to shape our summits and policy initiatives.
